Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner to join our rheumatology healthcare team. In that position, you will provide comprehensive rheumatology care to adult patients of all ages, working under the supervision of a physician and as a team member with the physician and another physician assistant.

Responsibilities:
- Conduct physical examinations and obtain medical histories
- In conjunction with the supervising physician, diagnose and treat rheumatologic disorders
- Manage chronic rheumatologic conditions
- Prescribe medications and order diagnostic tests
- Perform joint and soft tissue injections
- Collaborate with physician and other healthcare professionals to develop treatment plans
- Educate patients on disease state, treatment options, health promotion, and self-care techniques

- Respond to patient messages both by telephone messages and patient portal
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date medical records

Qualifications:
- Valid Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner license in North Carolina
- Master's degree in Physician Assistant OR Master's degree in Nursing with specialization as a Nurse Practitioner
- Rheumatology experience preferred
- Proficiency in medical terminology and documentation
- Knowledge of ICD-10 coding system
- Experience with electronic health record systems (NextGen preferred)
- Experience with joint and soft tissue injections helpful
- Excellent clinical judgment and decision-making abilities
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
