Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct thorough patient assessments, including medical histories and physical examinations for multi-organ system diseases.
- Diagnose a wide variety of rheumatologic conditions.
- Develop and implement patient care plans, ensuring alignment with best practices and patient preferences.
- Review lab results for high-risk medication monitoring; changing treatment plans as needed.
- Review records and studies for accuracy and completeness prior to new patient appointments.
- Review diagnostic tests and procedure results following new patient appointments to formulate diagnoses and treatment plans prior to initial follow-up appointments.
- Educate patients and their families on their diagnoses, prognoses, and treatment options.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date medical records in compliance with regulatory standards.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to improve patient care.
- Provide acute care and supervise infusion services during vacation coverage.
- Promote a healthy workplace culture.
- Participate in continuing education opportunities to stay current with medical advancements and enhance professional development.
Qualifications:
- Master’s degree from an accredited Physician Associate program.
- Current certification by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA).
- State licensure as a Physician Associate.
- Maintenance of ACLS certification, DEA certification.
- Strong generalized clinical skills and a patient-centered approach to care.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, fostering positive relationships with patients and team members.
- No prior PA or rheumatologic experience required.
