This role involves providing initial and follow-up consultations in a dynamic hospital outpatient department in Norwich, CT.
Key Highlights of This Opportunity:
- The Rheumatology Nurse Practitioner/Physician Assistant will work primarily in an ambulatory setting, addressing a wide range of conditions including osteoarthritis, rheumatoid arthritis, psoriatic arthritis, osteoporosis, gout, lupus, and more. Responsibilities include performing joint injections and gaining expertise in immunosuppressive and biologic therapies.
- Work schedule is Monday to Friday with day shifts available from either 8 am to 4:30 pm or 7:30 am to 4 pm.
- Enjoy a low on-call volume.
- Provide inpatient consultations at Backus Hospital.
- Collaborate with seasoned office staff and specialists from various disciplines on-site.
- Get involved in provider committees, system-wide initiatives, and rheumatology meetings.
- Manage a stable patient census with a reasonable workload.

Qualifications:
To qualify, candidates must be eligible for licensing in Connecticut as a Physician Assistant (PA) or Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN). Certification as a Physician Assistant or National Board Certification as a Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP), Adult Nurse Practitioner (ANP), or Adult Gerontology Primary Care Nurse Practitioner (AGPCNP) is required. A minimum of one year of experience as an Advanced Practice Provider is highly preferred.
