Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough patient assessments including physical examinations, vital signs, and medical history reviews.
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans for patients with rheumatologic conditions, including medication management and injections such as botulinum toxin treatments.
- Perform diagnostic evaluations utilizing EMR systems like Epic or Cerner, ensuring accurate documentation of clinical findings and procedures.
- Administer injections, including dermal fillers or other therapeutic agents, following aseptic techniques and safety protocols.
- Manage acute pain episodes and participate in triage processes for urgent cases within the clinic or hospital setting.
- Assist in clinical research studies, data collection, and analysis to support ongoing advancements in rheumatology care.
- Educate patients on disease management, medication adherence, lifestyle modifications, and health coaching strategies to promote wellness and compliance.
Requirements
- Valid certification as a Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner with current licensure in the relevant state.
- Experience working within EMR systems such as Epic, Cerner, or eClinicalWorks; proficiency in CPT coding and ICD coding (ICD-9/10).
- Strong knowledge of physiology, anatomy, diagnostic evaluation techniques, and medical terminology related to rheumatology.
- Demonstrated experience in hospital settings or outpatient clinics managing complex cases involving acute care, inpatient services, or emergency medicine.
- Critical care experience including ventilator management, airway management, or ICU experience is highly desirable.
- Familiarity with telehealth platforms and remote patient monitoring tools to expand access to care.
